Training new employees should never end after the original training process. Often, an employer will put their new employees through a month of classroom training, going through every arcane fact that pertains to the business, and then dumping them out into their workforce. It is tough to understand the job title and the responsibility that comes with it without a more through training process. People are always learning on the job and it isn’t until doing the actual job itself that the employee starts to get a grip of what his or her job responsibilities are.

New employees should always be shown thorough and complete rules and regulations that have to do with the business. If they are left confused about anything at all, they will not be happy with the job they have been given. They should always know who their trainers are, where they should go every day and what their job will entail. Anything that is in their job description should be gone over by a trainer who can answer questions when they arise. When trainers or managers fail to inform employees of all the things they need to know, it opens the door to mistakes and miscommunications. Both of these can devastate a business so it is best when all employees know exactly what they are supposed to be doing at all times, whether they are a new employee or not. Employers are seeking people who have skills, qualifications and the education to be the kind of employees they need to successfully run their company. Once the employees know the rules, know what their job is and how to do it, the employers can continue to develop their skills by offering college courses, refresher courses or other methods of keeping employees up to date on new procedures, techniques and knowledge. This is excellent for molding employees into future executives of the company. Supervisors make their employees job satisfaction rates high by showing them appreciation and respect. New employees will not stay at a job where the existing employees are not happy and are not afraid to show it. Managers should keep this in mind when dealing with new employees, knowing what they will see and whom they will talk to. It is better to guard against such bad situations by making sure all employees know that they are valued and a vital cog to the operation of the business. They may decide to cross train their employees, giving them additional responsibilities, showing them respect by suggesting additional training in more areas. Managers also need to make sure their employees feel comfortable or they likely will not be at the company for long. Make sure the employees know exactly what the job entails and that there will always be there to answer every question and the employer will feel loyal and be more likely to stay with the company for a long time.
